The sales of smartphones in both competitive brands; LG and Sony have decreased in the time of last quarter compared to their last year sales. According to reports by LG, they have claimed that their sales have been dropped by 21%, comparing with the same quarter of the last year. Becoming more and more worst, Sony has decreased it by 30%.
LG claims that this is due to 4G premium model’s less sales and the competition with other products in mass tear category. It has unable to provide a solution even by launching LG V50, the first 5G phone in history of LG. Apparently, Sony has declined the smartphone annual forecast to 4 millions, which was at 5 million before, as per the Bloomberg.
Both companies have concerns of decreased number of sales, while they are launching luxury smartphones. Xperia 1, a highly tall phone with 21:9 aspect ratio screens has released by Sony. LG G8 is the flagship phone for LG with handset of 5G technology.
Both giant companies are struggling to overcome those problems somehow. But it will not be an easy task to achieve as you and I ever think.
